13-Day Guatemala & Belize Itinerary

Upon landing at La Aurora International Airport, you’ll be welcomed by our team and transferred to Antigua Guatemala, one of the most beautiful colonial cities in Latin America. After checking into your hotel, enjoy the rest of the day at your own pace. Wander through cobblestone streets, admire the Baroque architecture, and soak in the lively atmosphere of the Central Plaza, surrounded by restaurants, cafés, and historic landmarks.
Antigua’s romantic charm makes it the perfect start to your Guatemalan adventure.

Overnight at Antigua Guatemala

In the morning, our expert guide will give you a walking tour of Antigua. Visit landmarks like the Cathedral of Santiago, La Merced Church, Santa Catarina Arch and the Central Plaza. In the afternoon, embark on a guided hike of Pacaya Volcano. This is a relatively easy trek that takes you across volcanic landscapes, and you may even get to roast marshmallows over volcanic heat vents. Return to Antigua in the evening for a well-deserved rest.

Overnight at Antigua Guatemala

Morning at leisure to explore on your own. At 2:00PM, your journey continues with a scenic drive to Lake Atitlán, often described as one of the most beautiful lakes in the world. Surrounded by soaring volcanoes and traditional Mayan towns, this lake offers a breathtaking setting for cultural immersion.

Overnight at Panajachel

After breakfast, enjoy a private boat tour to the indigenous villages of Santiago and San Juan La Laguna, known for its women’s weaving cooperatives, natural dye workshops, medicinal plant gardens, and vibrant murals. This visit offers a meaningful look into Tz’utujil Maya traditions and sustainable community practices. Return to your hotel in the afternoon.

Overnight at Atitlan Lake

Breakfast at the hotel. Morning at leisure. At 2:00PM, we will transfer you to Guatemala City (approx. 3-4 hour drive). Stay in a hotel in the city.

Overnight at Guatemala City

Early morning, we will transfer you to La Aurora International Airport (GUA), take a domestic flight to Flores, the gateway to the Mayan world of northern Guatemala. Arrive at Mundo Maya International Airport (FRS) in Flores. Upon arrival, we will transfer you to Tikal National Park. Enjoy this magnificent site while one of our experts guides tells you the history and culture of Tikal.

Overnight at Tikal

Wake up before dawn for a guided sunrise tour of Tikal National Park. Witness the jungle and its wildlife come alive as the sun rises over the ancient temples. After the tour, enjoy some relax time at the hotel before traveling to Belize. At around 2:00PM, the driver will pick you up and take you to the border of Belize. Once there you will cross the border and take a new bus to San Ignacio, Belize (approx. 2-3 hour drive). Check into your hotel.

Overnight at San Ignacio

Your driver will meet you at the lobby of the hotel to take you over to the park where your adventure will begin for today. Hike for 30 minutes through the forest before arriving the cave entrance. A short swim will lead you into the amazing underworld realm. When you are through with your caving, return to the park to have a delious lunch waiting for your to energize you for the rest of your day before returning to the resort.

Overnight at San Ignacio

After breakfast, we will take you for a scenic drive to Belize City (approx. 2 hours). You will take a water taxi to the laid-back island of Caye Caulker (approx. 45-minute ride). Check into your hotel and immediately embrace the "Go Slow" motto of the island. Spend the rest of the day relaxing at "The Split" or exploring the village.

Overnight at Caye Caulker

Today you will enjoy exploring the Belize Barrier Reef, a UNESCO World Heritage site. We will take you for a full-day snorkeling or diving tour to Hol Chan Marine Reserve and Shark Ray Alley. You will have the opportunity to swim with colorful fish, sea turtles, nurse sharks, and stingrays. Return to Caye Caulker in the afternoon.

Overnight at Caye Caulker

You will have this day at leisure  on Caye Caulker. You could rent a golf cart to explore the island, go stand-up paddleboarding or kayaking, take a sunsat sail tour or just relax and enjoy the amenities of the hotel.

Overnight at Caye Caulker

Take a water taxi back to Belize City in the morning. Upon arrival our driver will be waiting for you. He will transfer you to your hotel. You will have the day at leisure or you can visit the Belize Museum and explore the city’s highlights.

Our driver will take you to Philip S. W. Goldson International Airport (BZE) to catch your flight out of the country!
